ASUSTOR is one of the leading network attached storage (NAS) manufacturers, especially for home, SOHO, and professional users. ULINK Technology recently announced the availability of DA Drive Analyzer’s AI-based drive failure prediction solution for ASUSTOR NAS users.

The ULINK DA Drive Analyzer App for ASUSTOR NAS is DA Drive Analyzer in the form of an ASUSTOR Data Master (ADM) application based on the ASUSTOR OS. Using the DA ASUSTOR NAS Application 2.0, users can upload their drive health data to DA Drive Analyzer’s servers, enabling them to receive real-time alerts and AI-based predictions regarding drive health and potential failures on the application.

Installation

To start using DA Drive Analyzer’s AI-based drive failure prediction solution, ASUSTOR NAS users can go to App Central and download the DA Drive Analyzer app. You then sign up for an account, purchase a license key, and activate it. Your ASUSTOR NAS drives will then start uploading drive health data to DA Drive Analyzer’s servers. Please allow up to 24 hours for drive health predictions and other alerts to show on the DA Drive Analyzer app. For step-by-step details on installations, check out our Help Center article on installation of DA Drive Analyzer App for ASUSTOR NAS.

Monitoring Drive Health

When you first open the application, you will see the Overview page. From this page, you can monitor the health of drives on your ASUSTOR NAS. In the upper left corner of this page, all your drives being monitored are listed. A coloured dot will indicate the health of your drive. If it is green, it is healthy. If they have an orange (Warning) or a red (Critical) dot next to them, it means the AI has predicted their impending failure, and it may be a good idea to back them frequently or replace them soon. Critical drives have a higher chance of failing than Warning drives.

In the bottom right corner of this page, you can see drives that have received Threshold-Based Alerts. Threshold-Based Alerts do not utilize AI, and they may sometimes be overly sensitive to fluctuations in drive health. However, they have the ability to suggest the specific causes of drive problems, which is something the main drive health prediction AI is not able to do at this time.
